Focus of the month: CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)
CBT is like training your brain.
Sometimes our brain tells us things that lead us to feel sad, scared, or mad—even if those things aren’t fully true. CBT helps us notice those tricky thoughts, check if they’re really true, and then practice thinking in a way that helps us feel better and make choices that are more beneficial.
Practice identifying what your thoughts are when you're experiencing challenging emotions. Then begin to explore if these thoughts are true or tricky and work on adjusting the thoughts to something more helpful.
This process can be tough to navigate on your own. Learning this skill may be easier with a therapist to guide you along the way!

Small beginnings with a simple Instagram account as "Treat Yourself 365". The goal was simply to share self-care ideas and information on social media platforms. This rapidly blossomed into much more.
Build Wellness, LLC is growing and evolving day by day to aid in your wellness journey. Our aim is to shake up your views of self-care, help you identify your wellness goals, establish accountability and develop community.
I am Brittany McCrady, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with more than 10 years of experience working in the mental health field. The combination of training in evidence based therapy interventions, my work in management & leadership, and motherhood has cultivated a long time passion for self-care and a very clear picture of it's importance in our overall well-being.
